PRINCIPLES OF SOWING AND REAPING
1) Whatever you sow you will reap God is not mocked. Ensure you sow good seeds all the time to others and to the church.
2) Ensure you sow your seed in a fertile ground. This church/ ministry is a fertile ground since we are involved with building the kingdom of God- J.B.A is surely a fertile ground.
3) When you sow more you will reap more. (We have many forms of giving in the bible and in this church mainly Tithes, Projects, Prophets, Alms, and Thanksgiving). The more you sow the more you reap.
4) Sow with expectation that God is a faithful rewarder to those who seek him diligently.
5) Water your seed and do not curse your seed after you have given. Don’t murmur. Speak to the seed; give thanks for your harvest.
6) Always position yourself to receive from God through Supernatural ways, commanded blessings, the work of your hands (business/ employment/talents/career)
7) Every seed has got its harvest season therefore be patient and do not grow weary of doing well because in due season you will reap a blessing if you do not give up Gal 6.9.
8) After you take in the harvest you must set apart a seed for the next season to create a continuous sowing and reaping cycle.
9) Every seed sown in the fertile ground of the kingdom of God will produce more than you have sown. Therefore after sowing expect to harvest more. Sow bountifully reaps bountifully.
TYPES OF OFFERINGS TO GOD - After giving your tithe you give a good offering which now releases the
blessings. You can also rob God when you do not give a good offering. Please note that it is the offerings that release the harvest of your blessings. The incident of offerings and scripture related appear over 1000 times in the bible that indicates how important God values offerings to bless us.
1) Thanksgiving offering- It is given as an appreciation to God after any breakthrough, success, or victory e.g. birthday celebrations for long life, promotion, business profits/ breakthroughs, passing exam, acquiring a job, healing from sickness, deliverance from accidents /demons or trouble. The Children of Israel gave it every time that they defeated their enemies.
2) Worship offering- Given to worship and honour God every time you come into the presence of God in a small fellowship or in a service. The priest had to have an offering every time they went into the tabernacle “Gods dwelling place”
3) Missions/ Missionary offering- Given to support the furtherance of the gospel on crusades, printing of tracts, TV outreach, facilitating missioners and outreaches. How can they go unless they are sent? Romans 10:8... The support given to Paul for his missionary journeys by the churches.
(We use this offering to print outreach books & handbills, sow seed to Christian programs, support outreaches and crusades, outside missions)
4) Alms- given to support needs of others in form of financial or material blessings. This can be medical bills, funerals, weddings, disaster rehabilitation, feeding and clothing, school fees supports etc. Good Samaritan and Dorcas support. ( An account for Good Samaritan & Administrative Charity to members)
5) Free will offerings for projects-Tithes and worship offerings are not used for projects. Projects like land, ministry cars, church facilities and equipments, church buildings done with special offerings just as in the days of building the tabernacle and the temple. ( An account for church facilities)
6) First fruit- given for consecration of a new business, new job, to make God a partner.
It can be your first salary in a new job, the first income of your business for the first day/week/month given in installment or lump sum. The children of Israel gave it to consecrate land, jobs, and livestock to make God a partner.
7) Covenant or vow offering- Given when you need special favours before God on certain important needs. It attracts Gods grace and favor for certain purposes. E.g. When you need a child while in barrenness like Hannah, Victories while in battles just like jeftha, Breakthrough in challenges like the children of Israel sacrificed before any battle (Saul), Saul brought to Samuel for favour of direction of recovering the donkeys of his father . In today’s set-up this can be applied when you need a job, business breakthrough, promotion, passing an exam, journey mercies ( Jacob) or interview or any other challenge that needs Gods favour
THE ALTITUDES AND GUIDELINES OF GIVING TO GOD.
Principles of giving
The principles of giving are seen in this reference:
1. Give our selves to the lord first (11 Corinthians 8:5)
2. Give willingly (11 Corinthians 8:3, 12). Also Exodus 25:2, 1Chronicles 29:9.
3. Give hilariously, cheerfully (11 Corinthians 9:7).
4. Give liberally (11Corinthains 8:2; 9:13). Also James 1:5.
5. Give proportionately (11 Corinthians 9:6; 8:14-15).
6. Give regularly (1Corinthians 16:1-2).
7. Give systematically (11 Corinthians 9:7).
8. Give lovingly (11 Corinthians 8:24).
9. Give thankfully (11 Corinthians 8:24).
10. Give as a ministry to the lord and his saints (11 Corinthians 9:11, 12, 13).
11. Give according to ability (Deuteronomy 16:17; Ezra 2:69; Acts 11:29; 11 Corinthians 8:12).
12.Give as sowing the seed of faith (Galatians 6:7; proverbs 11:24; Jeremiah 48:10).
13. Give with simplicity (Romans 12:8).
14. Give freely as you have received (Matthew 10:8)

17. Joyfully (2 Corinthians 9:7)
18. Obediently (2 Corinthians 9:13)
19. Freely and cheerfully (2 Corinthians 9:7)
20. Proportionately and regularly (1 Corinthians 16:2)
21. Generously (2 Corinthians 8:2)
AS A LEGAL giver gives because he has to. A LOVING giver because he loves to,
We should not give with impure motives. We should not give:
Out of compulsion
Out of obligation
Out of hope of gain
RESIST THE FOLLOWING HINDERANCES OF GIVING (Stewardship)
1. Love of money and selfishness
2. Failure to put God first in planning
3. Fear and faithless living.
4. Not honoring or referencing God.
5.Criticism from other people- The woman with a jar of oil
6. Running down on resources (well running dry) because of not putting your hands on something for God to bless, Dig a well by investing and God will water it.
7. Intentional disobedience that will lead to judgment.
8. Hurts because of unbalanced giving. Not tall the time that God will expect you to give everything (take care of your family, personal needs invest).
9. Wrong teaching that discourage you from giving
10. Deception and wrong priorities.
11. Misuse of resources- We are committed to be good stewards as we have done in the past to take care of Gods resources that you give.
